4. VERIFICATION
4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified
as follows:
a. Qualification inspection (see 4.2).
b. Conformance inspection (see 4.3).
4.2 Qualification inspection. The qualification sample of 4.2.1 shall be tested in accordance
with table II to verify the physical properties of table I.

4.2.1 Qualification inspection sample. The qualification inspection sample shall consist of a
minimum of three four-liter containers of lubricant and 0.1 kg of thickener used in the
formulation.
4.3 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall consist of testing the sample
(see 4.3.1.2.) and examination of the filled containers (see 4.3.1.1) for conformance with
packaging (see 5.1) and all the requirements specified in section 3, except thickener purity and
machine gun performance. The lot shall be unacceptable if the sample fails to comply with any of
the requirements for conformance inspections.
