4.4 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection includes all examinations and
tests listed in table III with the following exceptions: shear stability, steel-on-steel wear and
336-hour corrosion and oxidation stability. The procuring activity reserves the right to conduct
any of the tests of this specification, including the three listed exceptions.
4.5 Performance requirements verification.
4.5.1 Verification methods. Acceptable verification methods included in this section are
visual inspection, measurement, sample test, full-scale demonstration test, simulation, modeling,
engineering evaluation, component properties analysis, and similarity to previously approved or
previously qualified designs.
4.5.2 Verification alternatives. The manufacturer may propose alternative test methods,
techniques, or equipment, including the application of statistical process control, tool control, or
