3.6.2 Thermal stability. The lubricants shall not flake, crack, soften or lift from the test
panels, and shall conform to the requirements for film adhesion (see 3.4.1), following exposure
to temperature extremes (see 4.3.6.2).
3.6.3 Salt spray (fog) resistance. Phosphated steel panels with bonded lubricant shall not
show more than three rust spots per panel after exposure to salt spray. Any rust spots shall not
be greater than 1 mm in diameter (see table II and 4.3.6.3).
4. VERIFICATION
4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are
classified as follows:
a. Qualification inspections (see 4.1.1).
b. Conformance inspections (see 4.1.2).
4.1.1 Qualification inspection. Qualification inspection shall consist of the tests
specified in table II.
