PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
HYDRAULIC FLUID, PETROLEUM, INHIBITED
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers petroleum base hydraulic fluids for use in hydraulic systems and in other
applications where a high grade hydraulic fluid having anti-corrosion and anti-oxidation properties are required.
This hydraulic fluid is not an extreme pressure (EP) or anti-wear (AW) fluid. This hydraulic fluid should not be
used in systems where a fire-resistant fluid is required.
1.2 Classification. The hydraulic fluids covered by this specification are of the following ISO viscosity grades,
as specified (see 6.2):
